Charles "Tiny" Herman


Tiny Herman, born in Nictaux Falls in 1906. Went to King's College in Windsor where he excelled in both academics and sports. He joined the RCMP and was stationed in Cape Breton. Went to Canadian Track and field Championships in 1932 where he won gold medals in shot put, discuss and hammer. In 1933 transferred to Ottawa. He joined the Ottawa rooughriders (rugby) as place kicker and led the scoring in 1937. He was all-Canadian in 1936,37, 38 and 39 and a member of the Grey Cup champions in 1940.
